Her latest series, Organic/Structure Juxtapositions, is rooted in Laurence’s deep appreciation of New York‘s iconic architectural landmarks and her decades long artistic interpretation through painting. The series creates a unique expression; it blends manual dexterity working on photographic paper and digital photography, with computerized work at the pixel level by layering elements.
These compositions give a new meaning to the structures of the Big Apple through oppositions between the organic and the structural, the elements of nature versus urban landscape icons, and the vibrant humanity of a city versus the loneliness of urban living.
